28 years in higher education. All of it pointed at enrollment.
I started on the vendor side. From 1997 to 2005 I worked at Datatel, now Ellucian, in implementation and consulting, working alongside more than 200 colleges and universities as they aligned business processes with newly implemented ERP and SIS systems. That work taught me how enrollment operations actually function at the system level, not just how they are supposed to on paper.
In 2005 I moved into institutional leadership. Registrar roles at Case Western Reserve and Cleveland State, then chief enrollment officer and senior executive roles beginning in 2011 at public universities across the US and Canada, including R1 institutions: NC State, UC Davis, Sacramento State, York University in Toronto, and the University of Lethbridge in Alberta.
That combination, vendor-side systems work followed by 15 years running enrollment at scale, shapes how I work with clients. I understand the technology, the process gaps it creates when it is not properly aligned, and what it actually takes to move an enrollment operation from where it is to where it needs to be.
Don Hunt Consulting works with VP and director-level enrollment leaders at universities in the US and Canada. If you are navigating a challenge where outside perspective from someone who has done this work would help, that is what this practice is built for.
